AIIMS: Former PM Vajpayee's health condition stable

New Delhi [India], June 11 (NT): Union Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Monday stated that the health condition of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, 93, is now fine, adding there is nothing to worry about.

After paying visit to Vajpayee ji at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the Union Minister in an interview told ANI, "He is fine, there is nothing to worry."

Another Union Minister Vijay Goel said to media reporters that the medical bulletin of Vajpayee has been released as the former prime minister had a urine infection.

"His medical bulletin has been released, he had a urine infection and is being treated for that. I have complete hope that he will be able to go home tomorrow," Goel quoted by ANI as saying.

A statement released by AIIMS also said the same. The hospital noted, "Former PM Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was admitted today at AIIMS, New Delhi for investigation and evaluation. He has been diagnosed with a urinary tract infection for which appropriate treatment has been closely monitored and treated by a team of doctor."

Meanwhile Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited AIIMS to meet Vajpayee.PM Modi also interacted with family members of Vajpayee and also spoke to doctors and inquired about his health. The Prime Minister remained at AIIMS for about 50 minutes.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and senior BJP leader LK Advani also visited hospital to meet the sick former prime minister.

Apart from them Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Union Ministers JP Nadda and Amit Shah too visited the hospital to meet the former prime minister. (NT)
