After #MeToo: allegations Anu Malik is no longer part of 'Indian Idol': Sony Entertainment Television

New Delhi [India], Oct 21(NT): Singer, music composer, Anu Malik is not a judge on the reality show 'Indian Idol' due to sexual harassment allegations levelled against him by Shweta Pandit and Sona Mohapatra. Today Sony TV in a statement confirmed the same.

Sony Entertainment Television released an official statement which read that Anu Mallik is no longer a part of the Indian Idol jury panel and the show will continue according to its planned schedule. It further read that makers will invite some of the biggest names in Indian music as guests to join Vishal Dadlani and Neha Kakkar to judge the extraordinary talent of Indian Idol season 10.

Following the #MeToo movement, Anu Malik after Shweta Pandit and Sona Mohapatra was recently accused of sexual harassment by two more survivors who opened up on their horrific experiences with the well known Bollywood singer.

The movement made continuous headlines in India after Bollywood actor Tanushree Dutta accused veteran actor Nata Patekar of sexually molestation and  mental harassment with her during a film shoot of Horn ok Please in 2008.

Since then, several women have come out to speak about their suffering on social media, including actors, musicians, journalists, and politicians.

Over the last month, women opened up and have leveled allegations of sexual misdemeanors against, Subhash Ghai, Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl, Kailash Kher, Chetan Bhagat, Sajid Khan, and Varun Grover, among others.
