Many actresses are expressing their drastic harassment experiences that are revealing cruelty of men in the acting or celebrity world. On 19th April Pakistani singer-actor, Meesha Shafi also revealed that singer-actor Ali Zafar has harassed her multiple times. While sharing the tragedy she wrote: “Sharing this because I believe that by speaking out about my own experience of sexual harassment, I will break the culture of silence that permeates through our society. It is not easy to speak out.. but it is harder to stay silent. My conscience will not allow it anymore #MeTo”. Check out what she had experienced:
Now, while reverting back to the allegations, Ali Zafar After such a long time filed a defamation case against her which reads: “As the defamatory statements are patently false, it can only be concluded that this malicious campaign has been launched against the plaintiff as part of a motivated conspiracy to tarnish the plaintiff's good image through making false accusations.” While filing the case under Defamation Ordinance 2002 on yesterday, he stated by accusing him of “false, slanderous and defamatory” the actress caused tremendous injury to his goodwill, reputation and livelihood.
Ali claimed damages of over Rs 1 Billion(55 crores as per Indian currency), the lawsuit also stated that “e that as it may, that due to the defamatory campaign being spearheaded by the defendant, the plaintiff besides special damages in case of defamation further suffered the following damages: Mental torture Rs 2 crore, Loss of contacts Rs 8 crore, Loss of reputation/goodwill Rs 50 crore, Loss of business opportunities Rs 40 crore.”
Earlier, Shafi nodded for the notice that she had received from Ali’s counsel regarding deleting the tweet of false allegations and issue an apology on social media for the same. In that legal notice it was also stated that after failing to do the same as aforesaid things, she would be filed for a defamation case.
Notably, the audience has not received any such apology from her end, following to which actor has filed the case.Â
