In the year 1969, he made his 1000th goal when he was playing his 909th match. He had played 1363 football matches in his entire life.
In his accolade, the government printed the post office tickets. But as we all know everything comes to an end. In the presence of 2 lakh people in 1971 in Marcana, he played his last match against Yugoslavia.
