BHUBANESWAR: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah will embark on a two-day visit to Odisha from Wednesday. He will participate in various programmes concerned to the state.

BJP president is also to meet Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Raman Singh and other party leaders at the Raipur airport premises during a brief break in journey before proceeding on Odisha tour.

Poll-bound State CM Singh will be accompanied by state unit BJP president Dharamlal Kaushik, state BJP general secretary (organisation) Pawan Sai, Cabinet ministers and senior leaders.

The meeting is believed significant ahead of the elections, which will be held later this year.

Shah is likely to take opinion from the BJP leaders along with feedback about the poll preparations in the state.

In Chhattisgarh The ruling BJP has 49 members in the state assembly.

Meanwhile, during his stay in Odisha, the BJP chief will address a public meeting at Lal Bahadur Shashtri Stadium, Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district.

Later in the day, Shah will visit Maa Manikeshwari Temple located in Kalahandi district for darshan and puja of the goddess.

He will also address a Vistarak Meeting and Core-Group Meeting at Hotel Bhagirathi Inn, Bhawanipatna.

In the evening, Shah will schedule to address a meeting of the State Core Group, State Office Bearers, Parliamentary Constituencies, and District In-charge, District President, State Morcha General Secretary and all MLAs at Hotel Bhagirathi Inn.

On the second day, around 9:30 am Shah will tour Saintala village in Baniband of Balangir district of Odisha.  Here At 11 pm, Shah will visit Degaon village also in the Balangir district.

Shah will also address a Yuva Maha Samavesh at Kaushal Kala Mandal field, Balangir at 12: 30 pm then he will attend the 'bhoomi pujan' of the BJP's Balangir district office.

The BJP has emerged as the strongest competitor to the ruling BJD in the state of Odisha in the last few years replacing the grand old Congress.
