Indeed, Sri Lankan President Maitripala Sirisena recently wrote a letter to President of India Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing his grief and sympathy for this horrible rail accident in Amritsar. He has also written in this letter that the Government of Sri Lanka and his country stand in solidarity with the people of India in this difficult time. We all pray for the people affected by this accident and their families.

In this accident, 61 people have died and 72 have been seriously injured.
