Appe in Perriakal Pan is truly delicious dish prepared using semolina, yoghurt, peas, carrot, and tomato, and can be prepared in less than 30-minutes. Ingredients of Appe in Perriakal Pan

1 1/2 cup semolina

salt as required

2 tomato

1 grated carrot

8 leaves curry leaves

1 cup yoghurt (curd)

2 capsicum (green pepper)

1/2 cup peas

1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds

1 teaspoon fruit salt

How to make Appe in Perriakal Pan

Step 1

Finely chop all the vegetables into pieces and keep them aside.

Step 2

In a big bowl, add semolina, then add curd and add water and make it like a batter and also add salt, then keep it aside for 15-20 minutes.

Step 3

After 15 minutes, add all the vegetables in the batter and mix them well and some water if it's thick.

Step 4

Then, heat oil in a little skillet and add mustard and curry leaves in it, let them splutter. Then add them into the mixture and also add fruit salt or acidity regulator a minute before cooking.

Step 5

Take the perriakal skillet, which is a special skillet to cook appe. It can have 6 or 12 groves. Now, add a spoon full of sooji mixture you prepared in each grove. Cover the pan with any plate and cook for 5 minutes.

Step 6

Flip the appe with help of a spoon and cook for another 5 minutes. Sooji/semolina appe are ready. Serve them hot with coconut, mint chutney or maybe tomato sauce.
