"Are you prepared for 2019 Lok Sabha board exams?" a student asked Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi faced an interesting question at “Pariksha pe Charcha”, an event conducted for Modi’s interaction with the students sitting for board exams this year. During the question-answer round, a student asked Modi about his preparation for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, referring to it as Modi’s board exams. Instead of replying to the question asked directly, Modi took this opportunity to take a dig at media.

“This much I know for sure, that if I was your teacher, I would guide you to go to journalism, because the long-winded way you asked this question, it is just like journalists ask questions,” quipped Modi followed by a laughter.

Answering the question, he again poked media and said he has exams 24 hours every day. “A small municipal election will be taking place in a far corner of India and 'Breaking News: Blow for Modi', the headlines will say,” added Modi.

He cited an incident related to Jan Sangh. He reconciled an incident where 99 of the 103 Jan Sangh’s candidates lost their election deposits. “But four candidates got their deposits back. And you know what the Jan Sangh did? It took this money and threw a big party and distributed sweets. When someone asked them 'why?' the Jan Sangh said, 'because 4 candidates retained their deposits'.., imagine,” said Modi.
