New Delhi: To target seven terrorist launch pads, the surgical strikes were carried out by the commandos, who went upto two km deep in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and fanned across 250 km of mountainous and forested territory as well as the strikes they launched were simultaneous.

Para commandos carried out the operations as they are trained for strikes on rival’s territory, was vacant at about noon on Wednesday. After the Pakistani terrorists attacked the Uri army camp on September 18, the armed forces commanders have been asked by the govt. to present options for the operation that took place on Wednesday night.

According to sources, “the fact that it was a dark, nearly moonless night was a crucial factor.”

After the completion of the operation, helicopters flew in pairs from various bases. To draw Pakistan’s attention, the army used heavy-calibre weapons in Uri .

Teams scattered across the Line of Control in the Poonch district and the Nowgam sector in Northern Kashmir. Commandos attained their targets at about 1:45 am.

Commandos shattered five terror launch pads in simultaneous attack and two amenities of the Pakistani army co-located with the launch pads. After that commandos arrived in India before sunrise.

With that, the military of Jammu and Pathankot, were asked for high alert as the Pakistani terrorists carried out a deadly attack there in January.
