NEW DELHI: The BJP didn't exactly act of contrition, but it said today that PM Narendra Modi didn't have the intention to raise questions on his predecessor Manmohan Singh's obligation to India when he laid blame on him of conspiring with Pakistan.

The BJP also asserted it gives former PM Dr.Singh and former vice president Hamid Ansari high esteem.

senior BJP leader and Union minister Arun Jaitley today in the Rajya Sabha said that PM in his speeches didn't question, nor meant to question the obligation to this nation of either former PM Manmohan Singh or Former VP Hamid Ansari, any such perception is incorrect. He further said ‘we hold these leaders in high esteem, as well as their commitment to India,”.

The opposition party Congress has been upsetting the Rajya Sabha since the opening of the Winter Session of Parliament and demanding that Modi should apologize.

Earlier this month, while campaigning in Gujarat, PM Modi laid blame on Congress leaders - including Manmohan Singh - of having a "secret meeting" with a former Pakistan minister and diplomats to make sure a BJP loss in the Assembly Polls in the state But saffron BJP won.

Pm Modi alleged that the in "three-hour secret meeting" Pakistan's high commissioner, its former foreign minister, former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh, and former Vice-President Ansari were present.

Dr. Singh smacked PM Modi atypically harshly. He also spoke angrily to him for allegedly thinning out "falsehood and canards" to "keep count political points in lost grounds."
