Asian Games 2018 : India win silver in Archery Women's Compound Team match after losing to S Korea

The Indian women's compound team bagged silver after losing to favorites South Korea at the ongoing 18th edition of Asian Games on day 10.

India’s Muskan Kirar, Madhumita Kumari and Jyothi Surekha Vennam settle for silver in Women’s Compound Archery event after losing final match with Republic of Korea by 228-231.

The team includes Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Madhumita Kumari and Muskan Kira lost 231-228.

Earlier India had the lead of 59-57 after the first set but were second best in the second set with 58-56. The third set ended in a tie (58-58) but the Koreans thrashed the Indians in the last (58-53).

 Worth mention here in the semi-final, they had beaten Chinese Taipei 225-222 after making a outstanding comeback.

The Indian women had earlier beat hosts Indonesia 229-224 in the quarter-finals. Talking about the past India had won a bronze medal in the 2014 Asian Games.

On the other hand the Men's Compound Archery team will also be in action soon after on Day 10. They will cross the swords with South Korea too. The Men's team had booked their final birth after a all-inclusive win over Chinese Taipei 231-227. The Men's team was the champions at the 2014 Asian Games. They would be willing to secure their Gold this time in Indonesia. The Men's team in action against South Korea in the final will include archers, Rajat Chauhan, Aman Saini and Abhishek Verma.
