World's fifth-rank Indian hockey team is continuing to perform in the ongoing 18th Asian Games. They defeated Sri Lanka 20-0 in Pool a match on Tuesday. At the same time, the Indian team has scripted history and a made a record to score highest goals in any particular international tournament. So far India scored 76 goals in Asian games 2018.

Earlier this record was in the name of Argentina team, which scored 68 goals in 2004 at Pan American Games.

Now the Indian team will be trying to maintain its glorious performance, defeating Malaysia in the semi-finals of Asian Games on Thursday. The Indian team had secured the semi-finals birth of the Asian Games by defeating South Korea 5-3 in their pool match even before the pool match against Sri Lanka. Thanks to this victory, India is leading in Pool A with 15 points in 5 matches. Now India is on the top spot. Earlier, India had defeated hosts Indonesia 17-0, Hong Kong 26-0 and Japan 8-0.
