To get a place in power through Gujarat Assembly Polls, both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seem to be leaving no stone unturned to defame each other for their victory.

The campaigning for the Assembly polls has witnessed a number of exchanges of cracks and charges amid equal share of controversies among all political parties.

The most recent in the list of controversies is a poster of Congress VP Rahul Gandhi with Salman Nizami,  for whom saffron BJP claims is a member of the party.

The poster depicts a photograph of the Congress vice president with Nizami and the text on it says – “Afzal (Guru) ka jo yaar hai, woh desh ka gaddaar hai” (a friend of Afzal Guru is a traitor). It further shows that the photograph was taken when Salman Nizami was campaigning for the Congress party in Gujarat.

The posters, which have been put up in Ahmedabad, have been attributed to one Sardar Patel Ekta Manch.

The controversial and alleged tweet of Nizami is also touted on the poster, in which he has openly shored up Parliament attack instigator Afzal Guru.

Two days ago, Nizami had tweeted: "Rahul Gandhi, son of Rajiv Gandhi. Sacrificed his life for India. Rahul Gandhi, grandson of Indira Gandhi. Sacrificed her life for India. Rahul Gandhi, grandson of Jawaharlal Nehru, fought for India`s independence. Narendra Modi, son of...? Grandson of ...?"

Conversely, the Congress party has asserted that they don`t have a leader or member of staff named Nizami.

The duo Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah have used the name of Salman Nizami and his origin from Kashmir at their Public meeting to criticize the Congress party.
