SRINAGAR/NEW DELHI: Just minutes after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ended the alliance with People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir,  CM Mehbooba Mufti and her team of ministers resigned . The resignation letter sent to the state governor Narinder Nath Vohra.

The terrorist- scared state is now headed for President's rule.

Meanwhile National Conference's Omar Abdullah met Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra in Srinagar.

“We can only put our heads together & discuss in the party meeting at 4 pm“, Rafi Ahmad Mir, PDP Spokesperson quoted by ANI on reasons why BJP pulled out of alliance with them in J&K.

“Whatever has happened is good. People of J&K will get some relief. They (BJP) ruined Kashmir & have now pulled out, maximum number of civilian and army men died during these 3 years. That question does not arise (on forming alliance with PDP), “GN Azad, Congress asserted to media after the press conference  held by BJP to announce the break alliance wit PDP.

Earlier Ram Madhav at a press conference asserted "We have taken a decision, it is untenable for BJP to continue in alliance with PDP in Jammu & Kashmir, and hence we are withdrawing”.

The PDP- BJP alliance fell out following conflicts in opinion over withdrawing month-long suspension of a ceasefire in the state during the Holy month of Ramzaan. On the other hand the Mufti-led PDP wanted Centre to reach out to the separatists but BJP argued that the separatists were given a number of chances to end their terror-related activities.
