Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 17 (NT): Following the midnight Supreme Court drama today Bhartiya Janta Party's (BJP) B. S. Yeddyurappa took oath as Karnataka’s 23rd Chief Minister.

With the bucket of anger and fury former state chief Siddaramaiah on Thursday said that the BJP is going against the Constitution.

However the matter is pending before the Court, Siddaramaiah told to  ANI, “We will tell people how the BJP is going against the Constitution,".

The Congress on Wednesday dug out at Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala and said that he shamed his office by inviting BS Yeddyurappa to form the government in the state.

Congress Spokesperson and senior leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said, "Governor has shamed his office."

Rahul Gandhi also tweeted " The BJP’s irrational insistence that it will form a Govt. in Karnataka, even though it clearly doesn’t have the numbers, is to make a mockery of our Constitution.This morning, while the BJP celebrates its hollow victory, India will mourn the defeat of democracy".

On a related note Yeddyurappa on Thursday for the third time took oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka at the Raj Bhavan.

The Supreme Court hearing commenced at 2.20 a.m. and concluded with the court passing order to not put stay on swearing-in ceremony of Yeddyurappa at 5.30 in the morning. (NT)
