Bhartiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah addressed a press conference in New Delhi after the unprecedented victory of the saffron party in three north-eastern states.

Reminiscing an anecdote from 2014, Shah lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to develop the northeast part of India and said this victory is the win of his efforts. Shah also promised development in the states that have voted BJP to power.

“In 2014 Narendra Modi Ji had said western side of the nation has developed a lot but the same has not reached the eastern side yet. He immediately started his 'Act East Policy'. I believe this is the victory of his policies, stamped by the 3 states of the north-east,” said Shah.

He assured that despite gaining a majority in Tripura, BJP will also involve members from allied parties in the cabinet.

“BJP might have a clear majority in Tripura but we will also include other members of our alliance in the cabinet,” said Shah at the press conference.

Shah said to march with the victorious streak to Karnataka which will poll for state assembly elections in May this year. Taking a dig at the erstwhile left government, he said that it has been proven that left is not right for any part of the country.

“With BJP forming government in West Bengal, Odisha and Kerala, the golden period will start for the party,” said Shah and added that perpetual victory for BJP has boosted party’s confidence for 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

He claimed that PM Modi and his government have the faith of people which is evident from incumbent BJP rule in 21 states across the nation.
