Germany's luxury car company will invest Rs. 130 crore more in India to increase its operation. This will increase the company's total investment to Rs 1,250 crore in the country. The company will present a new version of the 5 units manufactured in the country this month and the 6 units Gran Turismo (GT) model will come next year.

Its purpose is to strengthen the product portfolio in the country. BMW India President Vikram Pava told PTI, "Since the year 2007, we are constantly investing in India. This year, we are going to increase our investment on the cumulative basis to Rs. 1,250 crore.

The company has so far invested Rs 1,120 crore in Indian operations. About hybrid car BMW said it is difficult to popularize green cars without the support of the government. Pava said, "We are completely disappointed with not getting a discount on hybrid cars. Under the GST, car tax and tax impact on hybrid vehicles will reach 43.3 percent, which is currently 30.3 percent.
