Shravanabelagola :PM will visit Shravanabelagola for the Bahubali Mahamasthakabhisheka Mahotsava. At a function at Mysuru Railway Station, he will dedicate to the nation, the electrified Mysuru-Bengaluru Railway Line. He will also flag off Palace Queen Humsafar Express between Mysuru and Udaipur.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Karnataka where he is scheduled to visit Shravanabelagola for the Bahubali Maha-Masthak-Abhisheka Mahotsava. PM will also lay the foundation stone for a new Bahubali general hospital. He will spend nearly half-an-hour at the Station. afterward, PM will address a public rally at Maharaja's College Grounds.

Shravanabelagola is a well-known pilgrimage of those who follow the Jain dharma. The Vidhyagiri Hill here has a magnificent 58-foot idol of Bhagwan Bahubali who is also known as Gomateshwar.Bahubali is the son of the first Tirthankar Vrishabhnath or Adinath.His idol was established at the Vidhyagiri Hill in the year 981 AD.Since then the Mahamasthakabhishek observance is performed at the idol every 12 years.The 88th Mahamasthakabhishek festival is being celebrated this time around starting the 17th of February till the 25th for 9 days. President Ramnath Kovind inaugurated the celebrations here.

At 11 AM today, the Prime Minister will address via video conference to the World Conference on Information Technology which is being held at Hyderabad.
