Wrestlers gave India a reverberating start at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2018 in Gold Coast with Sushil Kumar and Rahul Aware winning gold medals, Babita Kumari Phogat clinching a silver medal while Kiran won bronze.

On the ninth day of CWG 2018 at the second leg of wrestling event, India’s hoped to reside on Bajrang Punia, Pooja Dhanda, Mausam Khatri and Divya Kakran with once again expectation of a medal in each category.

 Bajrang Punia won gold with a 10-0 margin over Wales' Charig Kane in the 65kg freestyle category. The most dominant show 10-0 held and Bajrang Punia won on technical superiority.While silver for Pooja Dhanda.Pooja Dhanda put second best effort. However, in the last 30 seconds, she trailed 1-6.

In the gold medal match of 65kg freestyle category, Bajrang Punia stepped up on the mat to face Wales' Charig Kane and he kicked off a star-performance. He's been in absolutely supremacy mode in just over a minute's play. Overriding his foe with full of easiness. Bajrang up 8-0 already with under two minutes played. Bajrang with quick work and takes two more points to win. 10-0 and Bajrang Punia clinched the gold and it marked India's 17th gold medal at CWG 2018.
