tyle="text-align:justify">In a recent statement issued by the Samsung Newsroom, the company acknowledged the fault in its latest product Galaxy Note 7. The statement comes after 35 incidents in which the phones got burnt or burst while on charging.

“Samsung is committed to producing the highest quality products and we take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously. In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue.” the report said; adding, “..because our customers’ safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7.”

The South Korean telecom giant has also promised ‘a convenient and efficient procedure for the voluntary replacement of the phones already sold’ in the coming weeks. It has also assured a $25 credit or gift card carrier as a “gesture of appreciation” for those who choose to stick with a Samsung device, such as the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge or replacement Note 7 instead of a refund.

Though the company has reacted promptly, and no loss of life occurred, yet this incident is sure to char the reputation of Samsung. As Rechargeable batteries are the chief cause of explosions and overheating issues in a variety of devices, from Smartphone to hover boards, it becomes mandatory for the companies to meticulously check all possible errors.
