After the success of Batman series, the makers are coming up with 'Batwoman' TV series.

The CW Television Network bringing a series on women empowerment titled Batwoman.

The series is about a young woman with a passion for social justice and the first openly gay DC superhero. It will be written by Caroline Dries (former 'The Vampire Diaries' executive producer). The series features the character of Kate Kane.

The character of 'Batwoman' will officially be introduced in December as part of The CW's annual DC series crossover event, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The forthcoming crossover will include 'Arrow', 'The Flash', and 'Supergirl' - but not DC's 'Legends of Tomorrow'.

"Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city's criminal resurgence," read the official logline for the potential series.

"But don't call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a saviour, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope."
