At the opening of the episode, we see that Arjun and Maya are at the hospital waiting for the test results of the pregnancy test. Much to Arjun's dismay, the results are positive, that means that Maya is pregnant and he would have to put up with her for much longer than expected. After the results, Arjun returns home with Maya and the entire family learns about the news. Then when Saanjh offers her something to eat, Maya discloses that she would eat after breaking the Karwa Chauth fast. Arjun is outraged at this and he tells her point blank that it doesn't make a difference to him even if she dies.

Saanjh tries to talk Arjun into making Maya eat something but the suggestion fall on deaf ears and Arjun leave in a huff. Saanjh then approaches Maya and tells her that it's not fit for her to observe fast. Maya doesn't take that suggestion kindly and then tell her that Arjun is her true love and she wants to fast for a couple of hours. She also says that this will be her last Karwa Chauth. Maya tells Saanjh to back off and that since she has their kid in her belly she has an upper hand in the matter. She is hell-bent on dressing up for the occasion irrespective of Arjun or her attitude towards it.
