Mumbai: A massive fire broke out at a Bharat Petroleum refinery in Chembur, in the industrial capital of India, Mumbai outer edge, Maharashtra.

The civic body’s disaster management unit termed it a level 3 fire Level- III fire which broke out at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited-RMP plant in Chembur. 9 fire tenders, 2 foam tenders and 2 jumbo tankers were present at the spot,  as the leading news agency ANI tweeted.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade rushed seven fire engines, two foam tenders and two jumbo tankers to the spot.

The plant is located at Mahul road in Chembur which is in the eastern outer edge of Mumbai and hosts other refineries.

Worth mention here no casualties have been reported yet. The reason for the fire has not yet been determined.

Locals reported that earthquake-like vibrations as far as 4 km from the burnt plant. More details are awaited.

Large clouds of smoke were seen rising above the plant from a distance.

 According to the reports of ANI Fire broke out at Hydro Cracker plant of BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited) refinery is now under control; firefighting operation underway.
