Bihar's Supaul horror: 9 arrested including minor, RJD likens Bihar govt with Kumbhkarna

Following the Supaul horror in which 30 schoolgirls were sexually harassed, police arrested 9 amid opposition likened Bihar government with kumbhkaran on Monday. A minor including in 9 also arrested. Earlier in Bihar's Supaul over 30 schoolgirls were thrashed for allegedly resisting sexual advances of some boys, as police said. Triveniganj district's Assistant Superintendent of Police stated that the investigation is on. He ensured that an innocent person is not caught in the case.

“9 people arrested so far, one of them a minor, asked for matric certificates from others. Want to identify the rest, don't want any innocent to get caught”.

Meanwhile the state's opposition party, Lalu Prasad Yadav led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has fired questions at the Nitish Kumar-led government for going slow on the investigation. RJD leader Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav likened the state government Kumbhkarna's slumber as police is slow to probe.

"Supaul incident has once again brought shame to the pure land of Bihar. Having witnessed repeated cases of crimes against women in Bihar, including molestation, rape, sexual harassment and murders, I think the government has gone into a deep sleep like Kumbhkarna's," Yadav told the leading news agency ANI.

On the other hand the ruling party of Bihar, Janata Dal United (JDU), stated that offender will be not spared and the government has taken it very seriously. The administration has registered an FIR on this incident. State government assured that those who haven't been arrested till now will be arrested soon.
