The ?best actress of her generation?, Meryl Streep has scored a lot in her 69 years. The actress is celebrating her birthday today with these monumental successes. The actor born in Summit, New Jersey in 1949 started her career with ?Trelawny of the Wells? in 1975. Before this, she appears in many plays at stage shows. The versatile actor has most nominations and competitive wins than any other actor in history as she was nominated for 21 Academic Awards and 31 Golden Globe among these she took away 3 Oscars and 8 Golden Globe awards to her home.

The actress who is known for her down to earth behaviour even after having such wonderful history have much more interesting facts in her list that you would love to know. So here are those:

1. Worked as Waitress and Typewriter

After completing her B.A she further studied MFA in Yale School of Drama. There she paid her fees by working in a hotel as a waitress. She also added typing for additional earnings and also kept her acting career and used to do a dozen stage shows for her living hood. No wonder that her dedication brings her at such a successful point.

2. Her overworked causes ulcers

Hard work never ditches you, it always pays whether it is early or late. Meryl was also so hardworking that she fell sick as her hard work all through the day in three professions made her overworked and cause in developing ulcers. After this, she left acting and concentrated on her law studies.

3. Was awarded by Presidential Medal of Freedom

The lady rewarded with the highest honour of the United States of America that is Presidential Medal of Freedom by then President Barack Obama in 2014. She also gave some speeches politically for  Hillary Clinton. After receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement she presented a speech in which she criticised Donald Trump by saying that he has a great platform and he is using it incorrectly.

4. His boyfriend John Cazale

The Deer Hunter(1978) in which she worked as John Cazale? girlfriend. Later, they came in a very romantic relationship but as the actor was diagnosed with lung cancer he died on March 12, 1978. Reportedly, the heartful Streep nursed him till his last days.

5. Forgot her first Oscar on the back of a toilet

The actress was facilitated by her first Oscar in 1979 for playing the best-supporting actress in ?Kramer vs. Kramer?. Reports said that she forget the award in Toilet while awarding ceremony.
