Born on June 6, 1988, Ajinkya Rahane is counted amongst the rising stars of the Indian cricket.

His adaptability towards different forms of the pitch makes him biddable.

The cricketer was born in a middle-class family, to Madhukar Baburao Rahane and Sujata Rahane, in Ashwi KD, Ahmednagar district.

Rahane completed his schooling from SV Joshi High School, Dombivli.

He was seven when his father took him to a local coaching camp in Dombivli, since the family couldn’t afford a proper academy.

Rahane has been taking coaching from the former Indian batsman Pravin Amre.

Ajinkya Rahane married his childhood sweat-heart Radhika Dhopavkar on September 26, 2014.

Rahane is a versatile player and majorly famous for the back-foot square-punch towards the off-side against the seamers. The slog sweep-over mid-wicket is counted amongst his prolific shots against the spinners.

Rahane is believed to be excellent at calculating the ball timing. Therefore his excellence combined with power, helps him achieve the best of himself.

With his calm and composed attitude, Rahane has proved himself an excellent fielder, and hence a complete package.

In the year 2015, August, Ajinky Rahane made a record of the maximum number of catches[8], in a test cricket match in Shrilanka at Galle.
