Akshay Kumar is on cloud nine as his most recent release 2.0 has made its presence felt in the record books by making more than Rs 500 crore at the international box office. In addition a span of 8 days, 2.0 has now become the highest grossing film of B-town actor Akshay Kumar's career.
Before 2.0, Akshay Kumar's biggest earner movie was 2017 block buster Toilet - Ek Prem Katha, but now that mark belongs to 2.0.
His biggest grosser in both domestic and overseas market is a South Indian film which is dubbed in Hindi and he has an anti-hero/antagonist in Rajani kant starrer.
Talking about Toilet - Ek Prema Katha it made Rs 134.22 crore by the end of its run while 2.0 has made more than that in just 8 days of its release.
Shankar’s 2.0 on 7th –day of its release collected total was Rs 132 crore and as per early estimates, it again saw a very good hold in its Hindi version.
In Hindi markets at places like Delhi/UP, East Punjab etc presence of Akshay Kumar attracts viewers to earn more. Nothing like Baahubali films that received all round acclamation, 2.0's response was mixed but Akshay Kumar's attendance has really helped the film in a very big way in some key North Indian markets.
