A parliamentary panel seeking to be into the Bofors gun pact for almost 27 years is expected to finalize its report on the subject in the current Budget Session, members noted. The CAG report on Bofors is the oldest "pending" matter before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), PTI reported.

The six-member PAC sub-committee on defense is seeking into the non-compliance of assured aspects of the CAG report of 1989 and 1990 on the Bofors Howitzer gun deal. The report has been delayed as action taken notes were not forwarded before the panel by the concerned ministry and government organizations, said a member of the sub-committee, headed by the BJD's Bhartruhari Mahtab.

Triple talaq bill expected to be discussed in Rajya Sabha today and According to reports, the Narendra Modi government has said it hopes to get the controversial triple talaq bill passed in the Rajya Sabha this Budget Session.

Besides the triple talaq legislation, which criminalizes instant talaq by Muslim men, the government is also expected to make a ground for the passage of the OBC bill, which looks to provide a constitutional status to the OBC commission.

The BJP expects to join its support among backward classes by according constitutional status to the OBC commission, which, it hopes, will provide it more support.
