CBI court to pronounce verdict on fodder scam today

Ranchi: A special CBI court will be uttering the judgment in the fodder scam pertaining to deceptive withdrawal of more than Rs 89 lakh from Deoghar Treasury between 1991 and 1994 for which former Bihar Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Jagannath Mishra are in the row of offender.

 RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav, along with his son Tejashwi Yadav reached Ranchi on Friday evening to hear the judgment. Addressing to reporters, he asserted that he is not guilty and that he has "full faith in the judiciary".

The hearing in the multi-million fodder scam case was finished on December 13 in a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court of Ranchi. Special CBI judge Shivapal Singh had scheduled December 23 for to make the verdict and asked all indicts to be present in the court on that day.

there are 34 indicts in the case, out of which 11 passed away throughout the course of the trial, while one turned CBI approver and confessed  the crime. A charge sheet was lodged in opposition to 38 persons on October 27, 1997.

 

 All The accused are holding the charges under IPC sections 120B, 409, 418, 420, 467, 468, 471, 477 (A), 201 and 511 and under Prevention of Corruption Act section 13 (1) D read with 13 (2).

 For Now Lalu Prasad and Jagannath Mishra have been finding guilty in another fodder scam case and they are out on bail.
