New Delhi: Expenses incurred on the security cover of BJP president Amit Shah cannot be reveal, the Central Information Commission (CIC) has responded to the application filed by Deepak Juneja on July 5, 2014. CIC cited RTI Act exemption clauses of "personal information" and "safety".

The commission has deprived of the appeal of a petitioner who had also sought to know the rules governing annex of security cover to a private individual and the authorities.

Worth mention here the application was filed by Deepak Juneja on July 5, 2014, it was the time when Shah was not a member of the Rajya Sabha. Juneja had also sought to know the list of people who have been provided security cover by the government.

However the information was denied by the Home Ministry citing Section 8(1)(g) that exempts from revelation information that would cause danger to the life or physical safety of any person.

The ministry had also cited Section 8(1)(j) of the RTI Act, which exempts information that is personal, would cause unprovoked attack of privacy and is not linked to any "public activity".

In its previous order in the issue, the CIC had supported rebuff of information as it was not revealed before Parliament.
