Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has ended his stay-in at Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal’s office, as reported by news agency ANI. The so called (dharana) strike by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders ended a day after when Delhi High Court ruled to pull them up citing they could not hold dharna at someone’s office or residence in this way.

Kejriwal and other AAP ministers had started the dharna at the L-G’s office on June 13.

They were on demand that the IAS officers must stop strike and take up again work. On a related note Two AAP ministers – Satyendar Jain and Manish Sisodia – had gone on a hunger strike a day after the dharna commenced. However, earlier this week, the health condition of both Jain and Sisodia got worse and they were admitted to LNJP hospital in the national capital Delhi.

While his dharna, CM Kejriwal had the support of various opposition parties, excluding the grand old party Congress. He was also backed by Chief Ministers of four states – Andhra Pradesh’s Chandrababu Naidu, West Bengal’s Mamata Banerjee, HD Kumaraswamy of Karnataka and Pinarayi Vijayan of Kerala –as they went to L-G office to meet Kejriwal and other AAP leaders.
