Kannur, An unidentified gang at Payyanur murdered a 38 year old CPI(M) worker. According to the police, "the assailants who came in a jeep and motorcycles attacked Dhanaraj, a native of Kunnaru in the district, with machetes around 10.30 PM yesterday when he was entering his house".
Though he was rushed to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital by locals, he succumbed on the way, police said.
It was supected by police that the murder was related to the political violence in the district post elections.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway on this matter.
