"Can the petrol and diesel be given at the same price for the vehicles?" asks SC

The Supreme Court asked the Central Government whether arrangements could be made to sell petrol and diesel at the same price for the other four-wheeled vehicles and private cars separately from carrier vehicles. A Bench of Justice Madan B Lokur and Deepak Gupta, who is hearing a PIL on increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR, asked the attorney present on behalf of the Center to take instructions on this matter.
 
However, the central government has already told to unify prices to be economically unprofitable and to prove that inflation is going to increase. The next hearing of the case will be on July 23. Advocate Aparajita Singh, who played the role of a judge for the assistance of the court, in this case, told the bench that in a report of EPCA misuse of funds mobilized with the ECC imposed on the purchase of diesel vehicles on behalf of the apex court. 
 
On this, the bench said, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (Siam) claims that their diesel vehicles do not spread pollution. Diesel vehicles going to shut down Germany. Ben said referring to a media report that Germany is considering banning the use of diesel vehicles here, while other European countries are trying to redefine the nitrogen oxide pollution standard. 
 
Sales of diesel vehicles have led to claims that the sales of diesel vehicles have come down by almost 24 per cent. There was 47.5 percent diesel vehicle sales in August 2016, which has now reached 23 per cent. The lawyer claimed to have solved the diesel pollution problem from the sale of BS-6 standard oil, which started in 17 districts of Delhi-NCR from April 2019. 
 
Asked about the increase in the usage of electric vehicles in the country, a lawyer said that the Delhi government has proposed to procure nearly 1000 electric city buses, while there are already 1000 electric vehicles in different parts of the country are there. The bench advised checking the practicality of vehicles running hydrogen fuel cell.
