Champaran Satyagraha: PM Modi flags off Humsafar Express train

Patna: PM Narendra Modi arrived in Bihar, to lay the foundation stone for various projects in the state and address at a Swacch Bharat Abhiyan event. He was received upon arrival by Governor Satyapal Malik and CM Nitish Kumar.

On the 100th anniversary of Champaran Satyagraha, PM Modi addressed "Swachchh Bharat Mission". He flagged off Humsafar Express train between Katihar & New Delhi in Motihari, Bihar.Along with this, the PM laid the foundation for the doubling of railway lines of Muzaffarpur-Sugauli-Valmikinagar division & various other development projects.

 The PM visit is a part of the concluding celebration of Champaran Satyagraha centenary launched by the Bihar Government in April last year. On this occasion, 'Satyagraha to Swachhagrah' program PM addressed more than 20,000 Swachhagrahis at the Gandhi Maidan. This tour of PM will not only be significant for Champaran but also brings the gift of development for Bihar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi in Bihar's Motihari. Through this event, Govt intends to inspire the countrymen to take the oath of cleanliness, like the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi from Champaran.
