Champions Trophy: India beat Olympic champion Argentina by 2-1

The Indian hockey team, which beat Pakistan 4-0, continued their strong performance in the Champions Trophy and defeated Olympic champion Argentina 2-1 to win the second consecutive win. India made both of their goals in the second quarter. In the 17th minute of the game, where Harmanpreet Singh scored with the penalty, Mandeep Singh scored a double goal in the 28th minute. Gonzalo Peillat scored the only goal from Argentina in the 30th minute. 

At the beginning of the first quarter, Argentina got a penalty corner which Indian goalkeeper PR Sreejesh very cleverly wasted. The first quarter ended without goals but at the beginning of the second quarter, India got a penalty corner, which Harmanpreet brought India to the opening edge by reaching the goal post from Argentina's goalkeeper on the right side.

Two minutes before half-time, Dilpreet and Sandeep duo put India on the double edge. Dilpreet made an opportunity to score goals for Mandeep in Argentina's opposition, in which he made in the goal post without losing any time, leading India 2-0. Although just before the halftime ended, Argentina got a penalty corner on which Gonzalo opened his team's account by scoring. Despite all the efforts, Argentina's team could not score any goals in the last two quarters. Now India's next match will be against World Champion Australia on 27th June.
