Changes in Delhi Metro, now passengers will not have to wait

Keeping in mind the safety and comfort of the passengers in Delhi Metro, DMRC has made some changes in the old rules. An open system will be applied to automatic fare collection (AFC) gates used for entry and exit, after which this gate will always be open for the convenience of the passengers.

According to the DMRC, after the change, there will be an increase of 65% increase in passenger withdrawals and admission. The Open Gate will be started on all Metro stations soon. About 10-15 people get out of the metro gate in one minute, this number can be up to 20-25 people due to the implementation of the Open Gate system.

At present, the gates set for entry and exit at Metro stations are closed, which open only after touching the token / Metro card. After opening the open gate system at all Metro stations, these gates will be fully open and the passengers will be able to enter and exit after touching their
token / metro card touch gate. If under some circumstances a traveler will try to pass this gate without touching the token / metro card with the gate, this gate will be automatically closed.

This new system will save the time of opening and closing gates repeatedly, which will allow more passengers to get out of a gate in less time. Often peak time causes more crowds due to the increasing number of passengers. Hopefully, this new initiative of DMRC can be reduced to some extent.
