CHEF TOUCHES YOUR HEART EMOTIONALLY

CHEF STORY LINE: Roshan Kalra(Saif) is a three-star Michelin chef who fired from New York's Gulli restaurant after he hit a customer. Forced to take a break, he flies to Kochi to spend time with his son, Armaan (Svar) and his separated wife Radha Menon (Padmapriya). It's a rewarding trip because he manages to recover broken family ties. In a bid to help him his wife suggests he put up his own food truck and start afresh.

CHEF REVIEW: Taking idea from Hollywood's enjoyable film of the same name made by Jon Favreau in 2014, director Raja Krishna Menon gives us a slice-of-life with full of enthusiasm film that satiates the palette and pulls at your heartstrings. Chef works on two stages. First, it takes you on a gastronomical adventure; one in which the leading role’s cooking skills will have you reaching out for your apron, knives and heading to the kitchen in a bid to make an pure effort making some of the finger-licking food shown on screen.

The film is an emotional drive that ties up all the loose ends between fathers and sons relationship, whose ideologies may differ but who still share a full of meaning bond that is impossible to vibrate . This is handled so skillfully; it leaves you teary-eyed on that instance. Chef also throws up the intrinsic worth of co-parenting, which is a constant state in today's ultra modern world.

Saif Ali Khan is in brilliant form, both as the hot-headed 'menopausal' man and later as the caring father/husband who is eager to cement ties. Padmapriya is like delicious chocolate who leaves you with a craving.
