Indian test cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara and wife Pooja became parents and were blessed with a baby girl on Friday. Pujara broke the news on Twitter with a picture of the newborn baby and his wife Puja.

Cheteshwar Pujara wrote on Twitter, “Welcome lil one. Excited and super happy for the new roles in our lives. We made a wish and she came true!” as a caption to the family photo.

Earlier, on January 1 this year, Pujara broke the news that he and his wife are expecting. He called the to-be-born child as a “little bundle of joy” and wished a similar happy new year to everyone.

“We're expecting our little bundle of joy this year. May the coming year be as blessed and happy for everyone as it'll be for us,” he had posted.

Pujara wasn’t bought by any team in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. He is presently playing Vijay Hazare trophy from the team Saurashtra which recently beat Baroda by three wickets and qualified for the semi-final round.

Pujara will be playing the semi-final from Saurashtra on Sunday against Karnataka. Later, he will be playing a County Championship at Yorkshire.
