Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 16 (NT):  Strengthening a cleanliness drive Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday directed the municipal corporation of the state to put into practice complete ban on garbage burning in urban areas.

Yogi also focused on water sprinkling on roads and to not burn crop stubble for creating attentiveness of the same in rural areas.

 Chief Minister Yogi also directed to jog an awareness campaign till January 15 on air pollution, Via FM/community radio.

Yogi also directed to take steps to deal with air pollution in order to produce simulated rain using most modern technology in Lucknow, with the aid of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur.

For the moment, in the national capital, the content of particulate matter, PM 2.5, in the air has been pretty sky-scraping, often crossing 500, while the safety limit is 50.

The PM 2.5 is accountable for respiratory issues and reduced visibility.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Haryana counterpart, Manohar Lal Khattar, on Wednesday promised to mutually deal with the toxic smog situation that has overwhelmed the northern India. (NT)
