'Gov. Vajubhai has conducted encounter of constitution', says Congress

On Thursday, Congress accused Governor Vajubhai Vala for "conducting encounter of the constitution". Congress party attacked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over government formation in Karnataka.

During addressing a press conference, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said that Governor Vajubhai had once sacrificed his seat for PM Modi. In his statement, Surjewala said that earlier Vajubhai Vala had sacrificed his seat for PM while yesterday he sacrificed Constitution and democracy. Yesterday he conducted the first encounter of Constitution when he invited BJP to form a government. Today when he swore in BS Yeddyurappa, he conducted its second encounter

Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson attacked the present Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa. In his statement, he said that BS Yeddyurappa is going to be the one day CM, half of which has already gone by.

Earlier in the day, BS Yeddyurappa took oath as the 23rd chief minister of Karnataka after the Supreme Court decided not to put a stay on the swearing-in ceremony, as demanded by the Congress.

Last night, Cong along with JDS challenged Governor Vala's decision in the top court. Both the parties has challenged Governer on the basisi of his invitation to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form the government even when the party is seven short of the halfway mark of 112. BJP consists of 105 MLAs, including one Independent MLA.

However, as per the latest reports, they are still short of the halfway mark of 112 by seven MLAs. They have been given 15 days to prove their majority in the Karnataka assembly. Whereas, the Congress-JD(S) alliance has a majority with 115 MLAs.
