Pune (Maharashtra) [India], November 18 (NT): Yesterday U.S.-based International rating agency Moody's Investors Service upgraded India's sovereign rating to Baa2 from Baa3 so the Congress party on Saturday raised questions over the trustworthiness of the global credit rating agency who has carried out the surveys.

"The Nation does not run on such kind of surveys, neither the people of this country being strayed by all this. First of all, there is no reliability of company who carried out these surveys. Prime Minister Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party has planned a survey by an American company and claims that everything is all right," Congress leader Anand Sharma quoted.

On the other hand, Ex- Economic affairs secretary Shaktikanta Das and Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant has called over India's up gradation by global credit rating agency Moody's.

Moody's raised India's sovereign rating to Baa2 from Baa3 and changed the outlook to stable from positive, thus given that a much-needed drive to the Modi government.

Though, Moody's disagreed that measures such as the Goods and Services Tax (GST), demonetization, and others would require time to straighten out, and the impact would be witnessed in suitable course of time. It also argued that India's growth potential superseded that of many other sovereign countries.
