The personal and professional data of approximately 2.7 crore members registered on the website of the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) website is expected to be stolen. Central PF Commissioner VP Joy had written to the electronic and information technology ministry that hackers have stolen data from people from the website Aadhaar.epfoservices.com, run by the Common Service Center (CSC), which is under the Ministry. .

NDTV told from Joy on behalf of CSC Chief Executive Officer Dinesh Tyagi, that the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has informed him that hackers have targeted the website of the EPFO. Apart from the names and addresses of the members in this website, their jobs are also detailed.

In fact, every Permanent Person of PF account receives 12% of his salary. In such a case, with the salary of shareholders, their bank, DeTel, is present in the database of the EPFO website.

Although the EPFO rejected the possibility of data theft of any kind from the government website, but has stopped the services offered through the Online General Services Center (CSC). The EPFO says that they have stopped these services till the CSC's 'sensitivity investigation' is pending.

After the report became viral, the EPFO issued a statement saying, "Warning about the sensitivity of data or software is a general administrative process. Based on this, the services provided through CSC have been discontinued from March 22, 2018.

The EPFO said there is no confirmation of data leak yet. The EPFO has stopped the server while doing advance action for data protection and conservation. Services will not be provided through CSC until the investigation is completed.

The EPFO also said that there is no need to worry about any kind. All possible measures have been taken to prevent any leakage of data leaks. There will be caution in future in this regard.

Significantly, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had told Parliament in March this year that between April 2017 and January 2018, a total of 114 government websites were on the target of hackers. After this, the news of the hacking of the Ministry of Defense, Home Ministry and Law Ministry website on April 6 was also in the headlines. Although the government dismissed the speculation of hacking, it told the problem of hardware.
