New Delhi: Heavy rains brought respite from scorching heat for the Delhiites, as it lashed many parts of the national capital in the wee hours of Tuesday. These many parts of the city such as Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Teen Murti Bhavan and R K Puram observed heavy spells of rain that resulted in waterlogging and jamming in a number of areas. Heavy rain accompanied by lightning was reported in several areas.

“Delhi witnesses sudden change in weather, experiences rain, thunderstorm and lightning in parts of the city”, the leading news agency ANI tweeted.

Apart from Delhi, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also forecasted heavy rains in parts of Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Sub­Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan, Goa, Telangana and Coastal Karnataka on Tuesday morning.
