Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], Jun 15 (NT): The holy festival Eid-ul-Fitr is being observed across the country.

 As we all know that it marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramzan, Kerala on Friday was observed it with full of devotion and enthusiasm.

Earlier, Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Ahmed Bukhari stated that Eid would be observed from corner to corner of the country on June 16, as there was no sight of the moon anywhere(which is necessary before announcement of Eid  ).

Yet, hundreds of people offered Friday prayers at Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium here to observe the end of the holy month.

Notably, along with devotees, Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor, was also be there at the venue.

Elsewhere in the country, locals gathered at markets in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district for last-minute purchases.

It is noted that an exhibition of rare Quranic manuscripts was held by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages in Srinagar.

The date and time of Eid differ in a variety of countries, and it totally depends upon the sighting of the crescent moon.

On the other hand Australia and New Zealand will celebrated the festival on Saturday but Singapore and Malaysia are observing it today. Eid is also being ring in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates today. (NT)
