This is amazing news that Dia Mirza is going to play Maanyata Dutt in Dutt in reel life, which is directed by Rajkumar Hirani Dutt biopic. And in the movie, Ranbir Kapoor will mimic the role of superstar Sanjay Dutt in the film. Talking about working with Rajkumar and Ranbir, Dia told, "I have the deepest regard and respect for his sensibilities, and for the stories, he chooses to tell. And to work with the team and Ranbir [Kapoor] was deeply gratifying. I got to learn so much. It was one of the most positive work environments. To be a part of a biopic and essay the life of a real person and to experience the circumstances that they've lived in is everything an actor could ever ask for."

Earlier in an interview, Ranbir had talked about the biopic and stated, "Sanju Sir has been closely attached to the film. He has come on set and has been amazingly supportive. It used to be surreal for me because I am acting like him. He used to sit in front of the monitor and see some scenes and be so happy. He's like an overgrown child, who gives love to people...I feel like I was born to play this part. He is the only actor whose picture is on my cupboard and to play him is surreal. Getting a physical look right is easy. To get somebody's soul right, the human being right- that's the hard part. I hope I've done a good job." Ranbir also added, "I'm grateful for this film and am working hard on it. I hope that people understand this man's life, his soul through my work."

The flick also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Vicky Kaushal and Karishma Tanna in crucial roles and is slated for a March 2018 release.
