New Delhi [India], Feb 3: This past Sunday at the Wells Fargo Center, Rey Mysterio made his return to the WWE for the first time since 2015. Former champion Mysterio, who was a surprise entrant at the 30-man Royal Rumble match, received a great reception from the WWE Universe upon his return to the WWE for the first time in almost three years.

Mysterio was the 27th entrant at this year’s Rumble match and the masked luchador earned an elimination to his name when he got rid of Adam Cole from the Rumble match, however, Mysterio’s return was eventually cut short by the Finn Balor. Earlier today, Rey Mysterio took it to his official on his Instagram account and posted a delightful photo of himself and AJ Styles sharing a laugh with each other at the backstage area of the Wells Fargo Center this past Sunday at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Mysterio tagged the photo with a caption that read: “One Day! A/J-vs-R/M #Respect” teasing towards a potential match between the two men in a WWE ring, sometime down the road.  

Mysterio and Styles have previously faced off in singles competition against each other when they competed in a one-on-one match at 5 Star Wrestling, however, the two men are yet to share the ring with each other in WWE.
