Television's most popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is always there to make its audience laugh out loud. The show's character daya ben has become a household name in India with the hilarious character that she plays. Disha aka Daya ben got married to a mumbai based businessman in 2015. after her 2 years of marriage, she gave birth to a baby girl on 30 november 2017. Disha is on a maternity leave. The mother wants to spend maximum time with her newborn before she resumes work. The show's producer Asit Kumar Modi said, "The shooting conditions are tough and since Disha's baby is still very young she needs her. We haven't discussed her return yet and there is no official confirmation on Disha quitting Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah."

Disha used to do Gujarati plays in the starting of her career and later even worked in Bollywood films like Devdas and Jodha Akbar before Taarak Mehta happened to her. She is a part of the show from the very starting when the show started in 2008.
