Today Doodle on Google celebrates the 66th anniversary of the Studio of Electronic Music, considered to be the most contemporary music studio. On 18 October 1951, the General Manager of the West German Broadcasting established it. The Doodle has created by a Berlin-based artist, Henning Wagenbreth.

Composers Werner Meyer-Eppler, Robert Beyer, and Herbert Eimert had been showing interest in electronic music since the 1920s, and moved with the bright idea of the technical possibilities to actually implementing their vision.

This was a facility of the Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) in Cologne, Germany. It is believed to be the first of its kind in the world and is well known for the growth of electronic music in the second half of the twentieth century. It was here that electronically synthesized sounds were mixed and the creation of a new genre of music came into play.

The idea to construct an electronic music studio was generated by composers Werner Meyer-Eppler, Robert Beyer, and Herbert Eimert, who for years were trying to beat the technical necessities of music. Artists, musicians, composers and more from all around the world came to this studio to research with new equipment and technologies that were exclusively present in the studio and mixed unique beats and tracks to create music that is so readily loved today. Soon, the studio was known to be a breeding ground for musical innovation. The original studio continued to create exclusive tracks and produce infiltrate music until the year 2000.
