EAM Swaraj:PM Modi's projects can strengthen India, Kazakhstan trade ties

Astana [Kazakhstan], Aug 3 (NT): Addressing a joint presser with her Kazakh counterpart, Kairat Abdrakhmanov External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj who is on 3 day tour said that the flagship initiatives of the PM Narendra Modi-led government such as 'Digital India', 'Make in India' and 'Start-Up India' can boost business ties between India and Kazakhstan.

 Swaraj added that these can be highly useful for digital developments in Kazakhstan. Swaraj held all-embracing and productive talks on a variety of fields with her Kazakh counterpart .She spoke on bilateral, global and regional issues of mutual interest.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar took twitter handle and said, ‘Concluding a productive visit to Kazakhstan as part of her three-nation visit, EAM @SushmaSwaraj departs for Issyk Kul, Kyrgyz Republic to meet Erlan Abdyldaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs and  call on the leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic. @MFA_Kyrgyzstan @IndiaInKyrgyz”.

 Earlier EAM SushmaSwaraj in Astana said that she discussed with the Foreign Minister about India’s interest to partner with Kazakhstan to explore markets for new products, diversifying from trade in traditional products to inject fresh impetus to trade between the two countries.

 Worth mention here Swaraj is at present on a three-nation visit to Central Asia region. After Kazakhstan, she will be visiting Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. This is Foreign minister’s first tour to these countries as the foreign minister. (NT)
