Ingredients of Ellu Sadam
2 teaspoon grated jaggery
3 curry leaves
salt as required
4 teaspoon urad dal
200 gm sesame seeds
7 broken and de seeded dry red chili
2 cup rice
2 teaspoon mustard seeds
4 teaspoon sesame oil
water as required

How to make Ellu Sadam
Step 1

To begin with, take rice and wash it under running water. Next, fill the rice bowl with enough water as to submerge them. Then, let soak for about an hour or so.
Step 2
Once done, drain the water. Take a deep-bottomed pan, transfer the rice in the pan and fill it yet again with enough water and boil until tender.
Step 3
In the meanwhile, place a pan on medium flame, put white sesame seeds and roast for not more than a minute. Next, transfer the seeds in a grinder and grind into a fine powder.
Step 4
Then, put oil in the same pan. Add mustard seeds along with urad dal and red chili once the oil is heated. Once the seeds starts to splutter, add curry leaves and saute for a while.
Step 5
Once done, add the cooked rice along with the prepared white sesame seed powder and stir well until fragrant. Serve hot
